On 9 September 2021, Mr. Kenneth Chan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of YATRON Smart City & Energy Group, attended the “Industry 4.0 Era – Intelligent Manufacturing Maturity Index Assessment” training seminar held by Shunde Household Appliance Chamber of Commerce of Shunde District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province and TÜV SÜD, to guide entrepreneurs to actively think about new strategies, new paths and new models in the era of digital economy, and promote enterprise transformation and upgrading, as well as improve quality and efficiency. The event was hosted by the Foshan Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, undertaken by the Foshan Institute of Quality and Technical Supervision Standards and Coding, and more than 70 senior managers and persons in charge of Foshan enterprises from more than 40 enterprises were invited to participate in the event.
During the lecture, Chairman Chen Chaoxiong of Ritang and Secretary General of Shunde Household Appliance Chamber of Commerce in Foshan City, Guangdong Province – Lai Xiaoming, Manager of Nande TUV – Management Service Department Manager Ferdi Lv Yang and colleagues exchanged the direction and implementation plan of industrial transformation and upgrading of smart factories and intelligent manufacturing, and they all looked forward to further exchanges in the short term to help more enterprises move towards “Industry 4.0” and “Made in China 2025”.

During the event, He Jiongwei, Chief of the Product Quality and Safety Supervision Department of Foshan Market Supervision Administration, delivered an opening speech on the series of training activities of “Social Co-governance of Product Quality”. Section Chief He said that Foshan is setting off a new wave of digital enlightenment and transformation, and the market supervision department has high expectations for the development and transformation of intelligent manufacturing of enterprises, and has provided a full range of policy support and supporting measures.
In this training, the Chamber of Commerce specially invited SIRI (Intelligent Manufacturing Maturity Index) assessors authorized by the WEF (World Economic Forum) and jointly recognized by the Singapore government and TÜV SÜD. Mr. Zhao Xu, Senior Lecturer of TÜV SÜD Knowledge Service Department, explained the basic concepts and technologies of Industry 4.0 and the analysis of intelligent manufacturing maturity index, combined with international advanced Industry 4.0 cases, to help students understand the background and goals of German Industry 4.0, understand the role of cyber-physical systems and information technology in Industry 4.0, analyze the challenges faced by enterprises in the process of Industry 4.0 transformation, and help enterprises master the ideas and methods of managing digital, agile and dynamic transformation.
